Nativus hostel is the ideal place for someone looking to relax in San Jose. This quiet hostel has everything you need for a fair price in a great location. Wilson was an excellent host from the moment I arrived. As a solo traveler, this was very important. I could tell he really loved making his hostel the best place to stay. We're a British couple who have been travelling through Costa Rica for 6 weeks and this is the best hostel we've stayed in so far! It was perfectly clean with a large private room and clean bathroom. We really appreciated the attention the detail including the fluffy towels and delicious breakfast. As with most hostels in San Jose, it's not safe to walk around at night but Uber is very cheap (1500-2500 colones). The hosts were really friendly and happy to help. Definitely stay here!!
Beautiful decor, lighting, & aesthetic! Charming little touches like the bath towels folded on the bed to look like swans kissing forming a heart with their heads, & the toilet tissue also folded artfully on the dispenser. Beautiful bathroom tiles & painted murals. Comfy bedding. Mariella is super nice! Great location. A bit more expensive than your average hostel, but well worth it! The only thing that could be improved imo is the morning coffee. Other than that, FANTASTIC PLACE!!
The room was nice, HOWEVER when I arrived at 9PM, exhausted from traveling, I was greeted by confusion at check-in. The proprietor didn't have my reservation from the website and hadn't prepared the private room that I reserved. She tried to put me in a 6-bed dorm instead, which I don't consider acceptable especially in a pandemic. When I said I wanted the room I had reserved, I was treated to huffs and irritation and overall was made to feel unwelcome simply for asking for what I reserved.
Beautiful, clean, and very quiet hostel. It is highly secured with a locked entrance before you come in. Itu2019s nicely decorated and looks modern. Even though breakfast says it is included in the price, there is a $5 charge. The receptionist was helpful in guiding us to the nearest COVID testing place. The beds were comfy. In the dorm, there are shelves, book light, and outlets for phones for each bed! It can feel cramped for the 6 bed room if all are there. Hot showers and strong WiFi.
